Creative collaboration.
Shaped around your project.
We work directly with museums and cultural organisations, and alongside museum, exhibition and interpretation designers. Our role is shaped around the brief: helping develop the narrative and visitor experience from an early stage, or creating a defined film, interactive, exhibit or media package within an established design scheme.
Shaping the exhibition together.
Early involvement helps connect the story, the media and the space. Working with the commissioning team, we can explore central ideas, develop storylines and consider how objects, images, sound and interaction contribute to the visitor experience. We agree our role from the outset and work within the project’s creative direction.
Exhibitions & interpretation
Exhibition and experience design, interpretation strategies, storylines and visitor journeys. Graphic panels, maps, printed guides, object displays, bespoke exhibits and commissions for artists and makers.
Film, animation & sound
Gallery films, documentary, animation, motion graphics and archive-led programmes. Single-screen shows, multiscreen and immersive installations, audio interpretation and soundscapes, with multilingual and accessible versions.
Interactive & digital
Touchscreens, touchtables, interactive walls and projections. Digital archives, collection explorers, games, learning experiences, virtual tours and web content, with the software, interfaces and audiovisual systems that bring them to life.
Our commissions range from a single gallery film, touchscreen or exhibit to a complete exhibition. For direct commissions, we can lead the creative development and delivery. Within a wider design team, we take responsibility for an agreed scope, working closely with the lead designers from development through production and installation.
Senior creative direction
Bespoke design and production teams that stay with each project from inception to completion.
The team that starts a project stays with it. Senior creative direction and a consistent core team carry the work from the first conversation through research, design and production to installation and commissioning. That continuity keeps the original intent clear, builds strong working relationships and gives clients a team that knows the project in depth.
We work internationally and in multiple languages, with one point of responsibility for the creative quality, schedule and budget of our work.
Working together
Understand
Identify the audience, aims and evidence. Find the central story and the questions that matter.
Develop
Shape the narrative and the visitor journey. Choose the media that best serve the subject and setting.
Create
Carry the creative direction through writing, design and production, with clear review and approval stages.
Deliver
Prepare the final work for its intended environment, coordinating with the people responsible for installation and operation.
Working with designers
A considered contribution.
A shared creative purpose.
We are used to working within projects led by exhibition designers, architects and other creative agencies. We bring ideas and specialist knowledge to the table, developing our contribution in close dialogue with the lead team and respecting the overall design intent.
Whether we are helping shape a storyline early on or delivering a carefully defined media package, we aim to make the wider team’s work stronger. Clear responsibilities, open communication and a consistent project team keep the work connected from the first brief to final delivery.
Talk about a collaborationCreative collaboration
The best ideas develop through conversation and collaboration. We work closely with clients, curators, subject specialists and communities, bringing their knowledge together with our experience in storytelling, interpretation and design.
Each project requires a different combination of skills. Our wider community of artists, makers, filmmakers, writers, designers, developers and technical specialists lets us build teams of different sizes around each brief. The people who shape the early ideas remain involved through development and delivery, with specialist skills brought in where needed. We develop the work iteratively, keeping the audience and purpose in focus from start to finish.
